Link is a new product by PearsonLloyd in response to a commission by materials supplier ARPRO to investigate new uses for expanded polypropylene. The material is traditionally used in the packaging and automotive industries, but the company wanted to explore potential uses for the material in the contract furniture and interiors market.
PearsonLloyd exploited the properties of the material: it is robust, almost unbreakable, and has a springy, flexible quality. The studio developed a lightweight screening system out of modular parts that slot together with a slight squeeze. The screen is quick to erect and easy to re-arrange, for use in offices, exhibition and event spaces.
